kappa Vevichathu

You can prepare Tapioca with or without adding coconut . This is a version where coconut is not added and so goes best with " Thenga aracha Meen curry " Or Malabar Fish Curry

  1. Tapioca/Cassava/Kappa - 3 medium sized tubers
  2. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  3. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  4. Curry leaves - 1 spring
  5. Oil - 1 tsp
  6. Salt - to taste

Peel and cut the Tapioca into bite sized pieces.
Add to a pan with lots of water and bring to a boil.
When the tapioca is 3/4th cooked ( turning soft) add salt to taste and turmeric powder.
Boil until it is cooked and drain the water and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan and splutter the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Add in the cooked tapioca and mix well.
Serve with Fish curry or Chilly chutney
