Cabbage Stirfry/Mezhukkupuratti

Ingredients :

  1. Cabbage - 1 small cut into medium size shreds
  2. Onion - 1 medium cut into same size as cabbage
  3. Green chillies - 4 slit
  4. Fresh cracked pepper - to taste
  5. Salt , curry leaves, oil and mustard seeds.

Method:

Heat oil in a nonstick pan .Add the mustard seeds.
When it splutters add in the rest of the ingredients and stir fry for 2 minutes in an open pan.
This will help get rid of the typical cabbage smell, overcooking cabbage also causes it to have a strong smell.
Cover and cook for few minutes until cooked but still crunchy.

Now my little secret - I like it when some of my veggies get a bit burnt, I think it brings out the sweetness/sugars in them. Cabbage is one such veggie that I like a bit burnt.
