- Bittergourd - 2 seeds removed and cut into inch long thin slices
- Onion - 2 medium sliced in same thickness as bettetr gourd
- Green chillies - 5 slit
- Curry Leaves - 2 springs
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Cocum - 1 piece soaked in water(optional , you can use tamarind instead or leave it out - adding it reduces the bitterness)
- Salt - to taste
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Heat oil in a frying pan and splutter the mustard seeds.Add in the Curry leaves and the rest of the ingredients.
Stir well and cover and cook on medium flame until the bitter gourd is 3/4'th cooked (around 15 minutes).
Remove the lid and stirfry in an open pan until it starts to brown slightly.
