- Chembu/tarro root/Kachil - 2 pounds
- grated coconut - 1/2 cup
- Green chillies - 6
- cummin seeds/jeera - 1/4th tsp
- turmeric powder - less than 1/4th tsp
- Onion - 1 tsp chopped
- sliced shallots,curry leaves,dry red chillies and mustard seeds for tadka
Cut the tarro root into cubes and cook with salt and water until soft.
Make a paste of coconut,turmeric,green chilly,onion and cummin seeds with a little water and add to the boiling mix.cook for few minutes.
Season with a tadka of oil ,mustard seeds, small onions , curry leaves and dry chilly .
