Muringakka/Drumstick Thoran


Ingredients:
  1. Drumsticks - 5 scraped and cut into 2 inch long pieces
  2. Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  3. Tomatoes - 2 small chopped
  4. Green chillies - 5 slit
  5. shallots - 3 sliced
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  7. Curry leaves - 2 springs
  8. Dry red chilly - 1
  9. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  10. Oil - 1 tbsp
Method:
Add the drumsticks,grated coconut, chopped tomatoes,green chillies, shallots and curry leaves in a pan and add add 1/2 cup of water.
Add in the turmeric powder and salt to taste and mix well.
Cook this in a covered pan for 30 minutes or until the drumsticks are cooked.
Heat oil in a pan and add in the mustard seeds , curry leaves and dry red chillies and fry it.
Pour this over the cooked drumstick mixture .
Serve with rice.
