Adobo Pork

Adobo is a very popular Filipino dish. There is chicken adobo, pork adobo and a mix of chicken and Pork Adobo.

Ingredients:
  1. Pork - 2 lbs cut into big pieces(I used picnic shoulder)
  2. Vinegar - 4 tbsp
  3. Soy sauce - 1/2 cup (plus more depending on how salty it is ,I used low sodium soy sauce so added 1 cup)
  4. Garlic - 1 head
  5. Onion - 1 medium cut into 4
  6. Bay leaves - 4
  7. Whole peppercorns- 1 tsp
  8. Paprika - 1 tbsp
  9. chilly powder - 1 tsp(I used 1 tbsp)
  10. Oil - 1 tbsp
Directions:
In a flat nonstick pan heat the oil and brown the pork pieces and keep aside.
Add the whole garlic cloves and brown them.
Add in the Onions,bay leaves and saute for 2 minutes.
Add in the chilly powder and paprika powder and stir well.
Add vinegar , soy sauce , peppercorn and 1/2 cup of water and bring to a simmer.
Add in the browned Pork pieces and cover and cook until the pork is done (about an hour or more).
Serve over White rice.

  2. Looks yummy.Beautiful Click. This is new to me.Thanks for sharing this recipe as I'm always looking for recipes from all over the world.I'll try this recipe with Chicken just because I don't eat Pork. Also the recipe seems to be quite easy.
