Rava Uppuma


Ingredients:
Cream of wheat /Rava/Semolina/Sooji - 1 cup
water -1 and 1/4'th cup
onion - 1 diced into small pieces
green chilly - 1 cut into rings
ginger - 1/2 tsp chopped
mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 2 tsp
salt - to taste
Curry leaves - 1 spring(optional)
cashews and raisins - few (optional)

Method:

Dry roast the cream of wheat in a pan until it warms up and gets toasty . This will take around 5 minutes.
Keep the roasted cream of wheat aside.
Add oil in a pan and heat ,when the oil is hot and add mustard seeds and let to splutter.
Add in the chopped onion,ginger,curry leaves and green chillies and saute for 1 minute.
Pour in the 1 and 1/4 cup water and add salt to taste(The water should be salty ).
When the water comes to a boil lower the flame and bring it to a simmer and slowly add in the roasted cream of wheat .
Stir so that it doesn't form big lumps.
Cover and cook on a low flame for 5 minutes.
Open the pan and stir the mixture around and break the lumps .
Add the fried cashews and raisins.
