Vendakka Mappas /Green curry Okra/Okra with coconut milk



Ingredients:
  1. Okra - 1 lb cut into 1 inch pieces
  2. Onion - 1 big chopped
  3. Green chillies - 5 slit
  4. Coconut Milk - 2 cups
  5. corriander powder - 2tbsp
  6. turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Tomato - 1 big chopped
  8. meat masala - crushed(Crush together 3 cardamom,1/2 tsp of fennel/perum jeerakam, 2 cloves, 1/2 cm piece of cinnamon and 10 peppercorns)
  9. oil - 2 tbsp

Method:
Heat oil in a pan and add the onion and green chillies and fry until lightly browned.add in the corriander powder and turmeric powder and saute .Add in the chopped tomatoes and fry for 2 minutes.Add in the meat masala and orka and stir and cover and cook .You might need to sprinkle some water and cook it.Once the okra is cooked pour in the coconut milk and mix well and bring to a simmer.

  3. For this quantity you can use - 1/2 tbsp of masala . Crush together 3 cardamom,1/2 tsp of fennel/perum jeerakam, 2 cloves, 1/2 cm piece of cinnamon and 10 peppercorns.It doesnt matter if you add a little more or less , just dont add too much so that it overpowers the sauce.

  5. Im sorry Neethu :) . I will update the recipe , I never realised that I had not added all that info . I will do it right now .You dont need chilly powder in this recipe .
